\nAs I've written before, so much of this story is disturbing, and I wonder how it was for you to write this. You put your characters in situations that they could barely cope with--pretty extreme. It has made for a compelling and troubling story. Despite it all, I got the sense that you enjoy writing this because it WAS so powerful.

\nMake sure to print yourself out a hard copy so you can read this over again in 10\/20\/30 years. \nThe plot is moving along nicely--or painfully, actually. These two face one disaster after another. Time to let something nice happen to them. I'm a little unclear about why J and S must live in such poverty if their grandmother (right?) has so much wealth. Am I mixing up the characters?

\nIt's now time to focus a bit. Think about where you want the story to go. What will the main problem or conflict be? You need something like this to keep us focused, a single issue that the next part of your novella will deal with.
