The Marionette Puppet
There was once a very handsome marionette puppeteer named Pierre, who lived by himself in his little workshop in very town in France. Pierre had blonde curly locks, deep green eyes and a very friendly smile. Even though he lived by himself, he didn’t mind since he was busy everyday making a new puppet. Pierre was extremely talented at making puppets. The puppets that he has made almost seemed like they were real. Pierre also liked to work with wood. He was also very popular with the children in town since he put up puppet shows often. He enjoyed entertaining the children.

“Oh, Pierre,” the children’s mothers would say, “You’re so good with the kids! Your wife must be one lucky woman.”
Pierre would softly laugh and say, “Oh, I’m actually not married. I just enjoy putting up puppet shows for the children.”
The mothers of the children would reply, “Oh, what a shame. I hope you will find a lovely wife.”

Pierre’s little cozy workshop was located near the center of the town and it was between the town’s bread shop and shoe shop. His old-fashioned workshop was built out of brick, had a dark green roof and a small chimney. Pierre’s bedroom was upstairs and his workshop was downstairs. There was also an small kitchen where Pierre ate. There was a huge table right in the middle of Pierre’s workshop and that was where he made all of his puppets. Different lengths of wood, string, nails were spread out all over the table. Different kinds of cloths were neatly hung on a rack near the table. Many cloths were transparent, vibrantly colored, soft or beautifully textured.

Pierre made puppets of all kinds; animals, people, kings, queens and almost anything you could think of. Each puppet was individually unique. None of the puppets looked like one another; each one had their own special feature or article of clothing. Some had big noses and some had small noses. Some had big round eyes and some had small round eyes. Some had a lot of hair and some had little. Some were tall and some were short. Some wore dresses and some wore pants. One day, he finished making the most beautiful puppet he has ever made. The puppet was a young lady that had sparkling blue eyes, curly brown locks and rosy cheeks. Her wooden was smooth and her futures were sharp. Her puffy dress was filled with vibrant details of swirls and designs, bright colors and sparkles. Her dress was a very rich deep wine purple colors. The puppeteer loved the young lady marionette puppet he made and treasured her a lot. He would pick her up and walk her around the shop for a bit everyday. He loved the way she moved on her dainty wooden feet. Her skinny wooden legs made her look like a dancer. He loved the way her dress moved as she twirled. Pierre named her Adèle.

I see the way he looks at me. He looks at me as if I am the most special one out of everyone else. The way he touches my cheeks, my curly hair and fluffs my dress makes my heart flutter. I wait for him everyday on the shelf that he has placed me for him to pick me up and let me dance around. I would twirl everywhere and my beautiful dress would twirl with me. It seems like I’m dancing with him. Oh, if only I can control my own legs and arms right now.

At night when everyone is asleep, little did Pierre know that his puppets come alive. Besides puppets, Pierre made a whole little village for the puppets. He even made houses, a castle and shops for the puppets. Exactly at midnight, Pierre’s little workshop would become full of life as the puppets danced and sung. Pierre’s little workshop would turn into a little village for the puppets. They would all stand up on their shaky wooden legs and gather around. All the puppets would suddenly become alive, walk around, and greet each other.

“How are you, my Queen?” The friendly lion said to the Queen.
“Just dandy!” The Queen replied.
“How are you, my King?” The friendly elephant said to the King.
“Very good!” The King replied.

The King and Queen were in charge of the little village, since they were the first puppets made by Pierre. The King had brown curly hair, soft blue eyes and a big mustache. He wore a royal blue robe with white fur outline it and a gold jeweled crown. The Queen had long flowing orange hair that was a thick braid, blue eyes like the King and a very sweet smile. She wore an emerald green dress with silver trimmings and small crystals all over her dress. The King and Queen would sit on their wooden thrones that were made by Pierre and watch over everyone as they danced and talked with one other. The King and Queen loved when everyone in the village were mingling with one another to keep everyone close together. The King and Queen especially loved when everyone in the village were dancing.

As the musicians of the puppet village started to get ready to play, each gentleman puppet would pair up with a lady puppet for partnering dancing. They would make two large circles, the ladies on the inner circle and the gentlemen on the outer circle. They would bow to each other and the gentlemen would say to the ladies, “How do you do, my fair lady?” The ladies would then reply, “I’m very well, sir.” Then each pair of puppets would hold each other’s hands and twirl around, and then they would switch partners and do it again, until everyone greeted one another. Adèle was the fairest of the lady puppets and everyone wanted to dance with her. She had the prettiest smile and flowed very gracefully as she danced. Usually three hours before sunrise, the puppets would say goodbye to one another and would go back to their places on the shelves. The King and Queen would return to their castle. Everyone went back to their place on the shelves, except Adèle.

Adèle went to the edge of table and sat down. Her hands were holding up her head. A soft summer breeze blew through the window and onto Adèle. The breeze made her hair flow a little. She dreamily looked out the window and at the bright moon. She sighed and then look down at her dress.

How I wish I could walk by myself. How I wish I could talk and dance around without anyone holding me up. How I wish I could talk with Pierre. How I wish I could dance with Pierre.

Godmother Moon saw Adèle's sad face and started to speak,
“Dearest Adèle . Why the sad face my love?”
The surprised Adèle straightened up and looked around.
“Hello? Who’s there?" Adèle called out.
“Silly, I’m up here! Look up!” Godmother Moon laughed.

Adèle slowly looked up and gasped. The moon that she was just looking at earlier suddenly appeared a soft face. Eyes, eyebrows, a pointy nose and a kind smile emerged on the surface of the moon.

“Who are you?” Adèle asked.
“Why, I am Godmother Moon, child. Who did you think I was?”
“Godmother Moon?”
“That’s me!” Godmother Moon chuckled.
“Oh dear, clearly I been daydreaming way too much!” Adèle said as she started to get up.
“Oh no, Adèle! Come back, come back!”

Adèle stopped and slowly turned around.

“Now child, come now, don’t be shy. Sit back down and tell me what has been on your mind. Godmother Moon is here to listen.”
“Well, Godmother Moon, I have been really sad because I am just a puppet. I can’t talk or dance with Pierre. I just really wish I could come to life as a human.” Adèle said as she sat back down.
“I see my dear. Now, who is this Pierre you speak of?” Godmother Moon asked.
“Pierre is the man that made me and every puppet here. Oh Godmother Moon, he is such a talented and caring man. I really do love him.” Adèle answered.
“Well Adèle, I’m here to grant you your wish.” Godmother Moon said.
“Really, Godmother Moon?! I mean, you can bring me to life as a human?” Adèle said as she excitedly stood up.
“Not quite my dear, but here is what I can do. I can only bring you to life as a human, only from sunrise until sunset. When the sun sets, you have to go back to being a puppet.” Godmother Moon said.
“Oh, that is just wonderful Godmother Moon!”
“Hold on my dear, there are some catches. If you want to stay as a human forever, Pierre must love you back. If Pierre does not, you have to go back being as a puppet forever. You have only five days to win over Pierre's heart. Also, Pierre or any human are not allowed to know that you are actually a puppet. If any human being finds out that puppets can come alive, the whole puppet village will never be able to come life during the night. Do you understand this, Adèle? If someone finds out that you are actually a puppet, you are risking your whole puppet village.” Godmother Moon said sharply.
“Oh yes I understand. Thank you Godmother Moon! I’m up for anything if that means I can finally be with Pierre!” Adèle said happily.
“Very well then, I shall grant your wish. I shall be here whenever you need me, but only after the sun sets and before the sun rises. Be ready when the sun rises!”
And with that, Godmother Moon vanished and the sun started to appear.

“Oh dear, what on earth happened? Where is Godmother Moon? Oh ow, my aching body.”
Adèle slowly opened her eyes and blinked a few times. Adèle suddenly sat up and looked at her hands. She started to feel her head, face and legs.

“Oh my goodness! I’m, I’m alive!” Adèle gasped. She tried to stand up, but quickly fell down.
“Oh my goodness! I have feet!” Adèle laughed as she fell back down. “Now, getting up is the tricky part.”

Adèle rolled over on to her knees and slowly stood up as she supported herself with her hands.

“Alright, good feet! We can do this!”

Adèle lunged out her leg as she started to try walking, but quickly fell down.

“Oh my knees are too wobbly. Alright, here we go.” Adèle said as she tried getting up once again. This time she took a small step as she held up her arms for balance.
“Oh dear, I never thought walking was this hard!” Adèle said as she fell back down. “Dancing with Pierre is going to be harder than I thought.”

As Adèle kept on trying to walk, Pierre just awoke upstairs. It was 6 o’clock in the morning. Pierre quickly put on a white button down shirt with some gray trousers. He quickly ran downstairs to get ready to work. When he got downstairs, he saw a young lady with brown curly locks and was surprised by her. The young lady didn’t seem to notice him, since she was busy trying to get up.

“Excuse me, miss? Are you looking for something? The shop opens at 7 o’clock.” Pierre said softly.

Adèle shot right up and looked up at Pierre. Adèle was stunned how handsome Pierre looked. She noticed how his deep green eyes sparkled in the early morning light. Adèle also noticed how tall and lean he was.

Oh my dear. This is not good. What do I say now? He is right there in front of me!

“Oh, um, oh I’m terribly sorry. I didn’t mean to intrude into your shop. I mean I thought it was open, so I thought it would be alright if I just looked around. But clearly, the shop is not open yet, so I’m going to go now. Goodbye! I’m really sorry!” Adèle said as she tried to walk as fast as she could, but she stumbled over her own feet and fell down again.

Oh no, not again! Especially not now! Oh please feet, move!

Pierre quickly went over to Adèle to help her get up.
“Are you alright, miss? Are you injured?” Pierre asked sincerely. Pierre looked straight into her eyes.

Oh my, the color of his eyes are amazing!

“Oh no, I’m perfectly fine. It just that, um, oh, my shoes! Yes, my shoes! My shoes are really hurting my feet.” Adèle said. "Oh, your shoes are hurting your feet?" Pierre asked. "Here sit down, let me see if I can fix your shoes."
"Oh, um, alright then." Adèle said as Pierre led her over to a chair.

"Alright, let's see these shoes of yours." Pierre said as he took off Adèle's shoes. "Oh my, your shoes are made out of cloth! No wonder they cannot support your feet that well! Well, you are definitely going to need a new pair of shoes. I'm going to see if I have any spare shoes. Stay right here, I'm going to be right back." Pierre said as he got up to find another pair of shoes.
"Oh, alright, I'll be here." Adèle said nervously.

I have to get out of here! I can't embarrass myself in front of Pierre!

Adèle got up quickly ran for the door, but tripped on her way and fell down. She scrapped her knee on the hard wood floor. Her knee started to bleed.
"Oh no! What is this red thing coming out of my knee? Oh no! Am I breaking?" Adèle whispered to herself as she examined her knee.
"I found a pair of shoes you can wear!" Pierre said as he entered the room again. Pierre saw Adèle sitting down on the floor with her scrapped knee.
"Miss, are you alright?" Pierre said as he dropped the pair of shoes he was holding and ran over to Adèle. "Oh dear, you are bleeding."

Bleeding? What's bleeding?

"Bleeding?" Adèle asked.
"Yes, you are bleeding. See the red liquid on your knee? That is blood. Does it hurt?" Pierre asked.
"Just a little, but otherwise I am perfectly fine! I really have to go now. Thank you, Pie- I mean sir. Thank you sir. Good day now!" Adèle said as she tried to get up.
"Oh Miss, please sit down. At least let me help bandage your knee. Come, sit down." Pierre said as he led Adèle back to her seat.

Getting out of here is harder that I thought.

Pierre quickly got up and went to the his small kitchen and got a roll of bandage and a pair of scissors.
"Alright, let's get your knee wrapped up." Pierre said as he cut a piece of bandage. "Sorry, I didn't get a chance to introduce myself. My name is Pierre. Yours, Miss?"
"Oh my name is Ad-"

Wait, I can't tell Pierre my name or else he will know!

"My name is Adaline." Adèle said finally.
"Oh glad to meet you Adaline. Are you from around town? I swear I have seen you before or something, you look awfully familiar." Pierre said as he looked up at Adèle.

Oh no! Does he recognize me?

"Oh, um, not exactly."
"So you are visiting?"
"Oh yes, I'm actually visiting. I have some...tasks that I have to do." Adèle said.

Tasks: Spend as much time as I can with Pierre, wait for Pierre to love me back, then stay as a human forever and stay with Pierre.

"Oh I see, very nice. Are you staying at a relative's or friend's?" Pierre asked.

Oh dear, I just realized, I need a place to stay as a human!

"Oh...I actually don't have a place to stay." Adèle admitted.
"That's not good...so no place whatsoever?"
"No...no place whatsoever."
"Well, there is an small extra guestroom right by my kitchen. You are welcome to stay here if you like. How about this: I do need someone to help me run some errands and maybe tidy the place up a little, so you can help me do that while you stay here. Does that sound good?" Pierre asked.

Stay here? With you? Of course!

"Oh thank you Pierre! That would be really helpful! You have no idea how helpful that would be!" Adèle said happily.
"Alright, so it's set!" Pierre said. "Well, let's go out quickly and get some food for today's dinner and lunch, does that sound good? We will have to be back soon so I could open the shop."

Food? Dinner? Lunch?

"Oh, um, yes, let's go!" Adèle said.
"Alright! okay let's get your shoes on first." Pierre said as he went and got Adèle's shoes for her. "There we go, the shoes fit your feet very nicely."
"Oh yes, they do! Thank you Pierre!" Adèle said.
"You are very welcome. Alright, now I am really hungry, my stomach's aching! Let's not waste a moment!" Pierre said as he grabbed a basket for the groceries.

Hungry? Oh no, Pierre's stomach is aching? Will food help cure his stomach ache? Oh dear, being a human must be complicated.

"Is your stomach alright, Pierre?" Adèle asked worryingly.
"Oh of course, I just need to eat some food." Pierre answered.
Oh eat food.
"Oh alright, then let's get going!" Adèle said as she got off from her chair and took a step. She wobbled a little and stuck out her arms out for balance.

Oh dear, that was close. Alright, one little step at a time.

"Oh Adaline, does your knee still hurt? Here, use my arm for support." Pierre said as he helped Adèle balance.
Adèle noticed how soft Pierre's shirt was and she felt his muscular arm underneath his shirt.

I must be dreaming. This is too good to be true!

"Better now?" Pierre asked.
"Oh, yes, thank you, much better." Adèle answered as Pierre and her left his little workshop, arm in arm.

"Oh my, what a beautiful morning!" Pierre remarked.
"Oh it is surely bright!" Adèle said as she blocked the sunlight with her dainty fingers. Adèle had never seen anything outside Pierre's workshop before. She was fascinated by the people walking by, the blue sky and white clouds, the different sounds and different smells. Adèle was mostly fascinated by the smell coming from the next door bread shop.
"Oh my, what is that smell? It smells so heavenly!" Adèle said as she closed eyes and took in a deep sniff.
"You mean the bread shop?" Pierre said.

Bread? How intriguing!

"The bread shop? Oh that sounds exciting!" Adèle remarked.
"Shall we go get some bread? Vincent, the baker, is very talented! The smell of his freshly baked bread every morning makes my mouth water." Pierre said.
"Oh let's go get some then!" Adèle said as Pierre led her to the bake shop.

"Welcome Pierre! How are you today? Who is this lovely lady?" Vincent, the baker, said as Pierre and Adèle entered the shop.
Adèle looked around the bread shop. There were shelves full of loafs of bread and baskets of pastries. The breads were all in different kinds of shapes and sizes. Some breads were long, some were puffy, some were flat and some were round.
"Morning Vincent! I am very good. This is Adaline." Pierre said as he introduced Adèle.
"Hello! Nice to meet you! How do you do?" Adèle said as she shook Vincent's hand.
"I'm very good, thank you! Are you guys here to buy some bread? Freshly baked this morning!" Vincent said as he held up a basket full of freshly baked bread.
"Yes, we are. We will take a loaf." Pierre said as he took out some coins.
"Here you go!" Vincent said as he wrapped a loaf of bread in white paper and handed it to Pierre.
"Thank you very much! Take care now Vincent!" Pierre said as he started to leave.
"Alright, you too Pierre! And nice to meet you Adaline!" Vincent said.
"Nice meeting you too Vincent! Goodbye!" Adèle said as she left with Pierre.

"Alright then, let's quickly head up to the town shop. We will be needing a lot of food for this week. If I may ask, how long do you think you will be needing to stay here? You mentioned earlier that you have some tasks to do?" Pierre asked.
"Oh I will be needing five days to do my tasks." Adèle answered.

I really hope five days will be enough. Oh if only Godmother Moon would let me be stay as a human longer.

"But I can also help you around the workshop if you like!" Adèle added.
"Oh, how kind of you! Any extra help would be lovely! Pierre said.

Pierre and Adèle walked arm in arm up to the town shop. Along the way, many people stopped and greeted Pierre. Many of them were especially staring at Adèle. They were staring at how she gracefully swayed down the street, although a little awkwardly sometimes. They were staring at how her beautifully decorated dress moved with her and how she just glowed in the daylight. Many people were whispering around them. "Is that Pierre's wife?" They would ask each other. "I didn't know that Pierre even had a wife." They would say to each other.
Pierre and Adèle arrived at the town shop shortly after a while.
"Alright, we are going to need some cheese, tomatoes, onions, pepper and some pasta. We are probably going to need some lettuce and spinach too." Pierre said as he went through his grocery list.

What are all those things?

The town shop was a small shop filled with many vegetables and fruits. There were many bins in the shop and each bin was filled with either a kind of fruit or vegetable. Adèle couldn't stop looking around, the colors and shapes of the fruits and vegetables fascinated her.
"Alright here are the tomatoes." Pierre said as he went over to the bin of tomatoes. "They look very fresh this morning!"
Adèle went over to the bin of tomatoes and picked one up. She stared very carefully at the red tomato. The tomato was rich in a red color, but a little bit translucent and shiny at the same time. On top of the tomato was a very small stem with dark green leaves. It felt very soft and a little slippery in Adèle's hands.
How interesting! It's so round and red! I wonder what you can do with this so called tomato.
"What a nice pick Adaline. Here, put it in the basket. Let's go pick out an onion." Pierre said as he went over to the bin of onions. Adèle went over to the bin of onions with Pierre and picked one up. The onion fitted perfectly in her dainty hands. The onion was a light purple color with many layers of skin. The layers of skin started to peel off a little as Adèle held the onion.

Oh no! I'm breaking this onion!

"Oh dear, this onion doesn't seem very good." Adèle as she put back the onion that she was holding.
"Oh it's okay, that onion seemed fine. The skin of the onion was peeling off a little, but that doesn't matter because we are not even going to eat the skin." Pierre explained.
"Alrighty then." Adèle said.

Oh thank goodness I didn't break the onion.

"Alright, I'm going to get some lettuce and spinach and some pasta. Can you pick out a pepper while I go find these things?" Pierre asked.
"Of course!" Adèle answered.
"Thank you, I shall be back in a bit." Pierre said as he went off looking for lettuce and spinach.

Pepper? Where could that be? What color could it be?

Adèle walked around for a bit and finally found a bin labeled "peppers". She looked into the bins and saw the peppers came in different colors. Some were green, some were red and some were yellow.

Oh dear, this is going to be complicated.

Adèle picked a red one and a green one. She put back the green one and picked up a yellow one.

Hmm, which one seems the prettiest? I like all these colors! This is going to be a hard decision.

Adèle noticed a faint smell of the peppers, so she put them one by one up to her nose.

Oh my, what a sharp smell! It's sweet at the same time too!

Adèle put the green pepper up to her nose again. Then she put the yellow pepper to her nose. And finally, the red pepper up to the nose.

This red pepper has such a sweet smell!

Adèle then decided she would pick the red pepper. By the time Adèle finished picking her pepper, Pierre came back with lettuce and spinach in his basket.
"Oh Adèle, what a nice pepper you picked!" Pierre said as he walked over to Adèle.
"Yes it is! How was picking out the lettuce and spinach?" Adèle asked.
"It went very well! Now let's go get some cheese and hurry home." Pierre said as he started to head towards the cheese section.

Cheese? Oh my, so many things to get!
Adèle quickly followed Pierre. Adèle quickly came upon a long rectangular big filled with ice and a lot of different kind of cheeses.

What are these yellow blocks?

'I think some mozzarella would go well with the pasta." Pierre said as he picked up a block of mozzarella cheese. "Oh that reminds me! We need some pasta! Come along this way Adaline!" Pierre said he lead the way to the pasta section.
"Alright, here we are. Should we get pasta or spaghetti?" Pierre asked as he looked up and down the shelf of different kinds of pasta.

Spaghetti? Sounds fancy!

"How about spaghetti?" Adèle suggested.
"Sounds great! Alright, let's go pay up front." Pierre said as he grabbed a box of spaghetti.
Pierre walked up front with the basket of groceries as Adèle followed.

Oh my, so many boxes! I wonder what they all have inside!

As Adèle followed Pierre, she couldn't stop staring at all the things placed on the shelves. She was especially fascinated by the smell of chocolate when she walked by it. She closed her eyes and took a deep sniff.

Oh my, so heavenly!

Pierre paid for the groceries and left with Adèle. Pierre started to look tired carrying the groceries half way home.
Oh no, Pierre looks miserable! I should help!
"Oh Pierre, I can you carry those! Here, hand some over to me!" Adèle said as she grabbed some groceries from Pierre's hand.
"Oh Adaline, it's alright, I'm fine." Pierre said.
"Oh no, it's my pleasure." Adèle insisted.
By now Adèle's walking already started to improve. She can walk without wobbling now.

"Home sweet home!" Pierre said as he opened the door to his workshop. "Alright, I got to start working on my puppets now. But first, we will be needing some lunch. Here, Adaline, just put the groceries on the kitchen table." Pierre said as he pointed to the kitchen table.
"Alright, I'll go do that." Adèle said as she walked over to the kitchen.
Pierre's kitchen was small but cozy. It had a round wooden table in the middle of the kitchen. When you first enter the kitchen, you can see a small fire stove, a faucet sink and a regular sized ice box. On the right side wall of the kitchen, there was a small square window. There was a pot of small purple iris flowers on the window sill. On left side wall of the kitchen, there were a set of small cabinets. Pierre usually stored all his spices and ingredients in those small cabinets. On wall above the faucet sink, there hung a lot of different kinds pots. Some were big pots for soups and some were small pans for frying or sauteing.
"How about some nice tomato and mozzarella sandwiches?" Pierre suggested.
Adèle didn't seem to hear Pierre. She was distracted by the small pot of purple iris flowers. Adèle went over to the window sill and touched the iris flowers' petals.

Oh my, so soft and delicate!

"Adaline? Are you alright?" Pierre asked.
"Oh, sorry, yes, I'm fine." Adèle said as she turned around.
"Oh, you were looking at the flowers. Aren't they pretty?" Pierre said.
"Oh yes! Very pretty!" Adèle exclaimed.
"I have a whole bunch of right in my garden. Come, I'll show you." Pierre said as he led Adèle to his garden in the back of his workshop. Pierre opened the back door and sunlight shined through his workshop. A light smell of sun and flowers drifted into the room.
"Here we are! This is my garden. I know it's a bit small, but hopefully it will expand later." Pierre said proudly as he showed off his garden.
"Oh my, it's a lovely little garden!" Adèle as she squatted down to see the flowers more closely. Even though it was just a small patch of land, Pierre had planted a lot of different kinds of flowers. There were mostly small flowers, but they looked very comprising with one another.
"Adaline, would you like to water these flowers quickly and I'll go make some sandwiches for us?" Pierre suggested as he handed Adèle a pitcher of water.
"Sure, I'll love to!" Adèle said as she took the pitcher of water from Pierre.
"Do tomato and mozzarella sound appetizing?" Pierre asked.
"Very appetizing." Adèle said.
"Alright, just come in when you are done!" Pierre said as he left to go to the kitchen.
Oh my, so many pretty flowers!
There were many different colors to the flowers. Some were purple and some were pink. Some were white with a red tint and some were yellow with a purple tint. There were also white and yellow daisies. Adèle put the pitcher of water next to her and knelt down closer to the ground to smell them.

Oh my, what a heavenly smell!

Adèle closed her eyes and took in another deep sniff.

I want to remember this smell forever.

Adèle got up and picked up the pitcher of water. She softly sprinkled the water on the flowers. The sunlight reflected on the drops of water on the flowers and it made them shine.

How lovely! This is just beautiful! How I wish our puppet village could have flowers.

Adèle took one last look at Pierre's garden and went inside. Pierre was still busy cutting the tomatoes. The smell of the fresh bread frying on the pan flowed throughout the kitchen.
"Smells so good in here!" Adèle said as she come into the kitchen and put down the water pitcher next to the faucet sink. "Oh my, my stomach is rumbling!" Adèle said she touched her stomach.
"You must be really hungry!" Pierre said. "Here, sit down at the table, I already made a sandwich for you." Pierre said as he pulled out a chair for Adèle.
"Thank you very much! This sure does look very good!" Adèle said as Pierre put a sandwich on a plate in front of her.
How am I suppose to eat this? I guess I should just put it to my mouth?
Adèle looked at her sandwich for a second and gracefully pick it up with her long fingers. She looked at her sandwich once more. Between the two loafs of olive oil grilled bread, there were two slices of juicy tomato and one thin slice of white mozzarella cheese.

This smells so good!

Adèle then slowly put it up to her lips and took a small bite.

Oh my, this sandwich is so chewy, yet chunky and soft at the same time! It is amazing!

"Is it good Adaline? Do you like it?" Pierre asked.
"Oh Pierre! It is so delicious! I love it!" Adèle exclaimed.
"I'm glad you like it!" Pierre smiled as he grabbed a seat across from Adèle and sat down with a sandwich too.
"You are so good at making sandwiches, Pierre!" Adèle complimented.
"Oh why thank you." Pierre laughed. "Just wait till you try the spaghetti tonight!"
"Oh tonight? I can't wait!" Adèle said.

Wait, tonight? Oh I hope dinner is going to be before sunset.

"Alright, that was a nice little lunch!" Pierre said as he got up with his empty plate. "Here, Adaline, let me take your plate for you."
"Oh why thank you Pierre." Adèle said.

Oh, the table is bit dirty. Maybe I could clean it up with a rag.

Adèle got up and found a rag next to the faucet sink. She started wiping the round wooden table and soon the table was clean.
"Thank you, Adaline!" Pierre said as he noticed the clean table.
"You're welcome, my pleasure." Adèle smiled.
"The kitchen looks squeaky clean!" Pierre exclaimed. "Alright, I must get to work now!"

Work? Pierre must be making more puppets!

"Would you like some help?" Adèle asked.
"Oh, that would be very helpful, thank you!" Pierre said as he led Adèle to his work large table.
"Alright, you may help me cut some fabric and string." Pierre said as he handed Adèle a pair of scissors, a big roll of fabric and a roll of string.
"Alright, will do!" Adèle as she picked up the scissors and started cutting.
Pierre took out his brown square glasses and started to work on a puppet. Pierre was busy working on the eyes of a almost-finished puppet. It was a young man, dressed in a gray suit. The young man puppet had light brown hair and a pair of black shiny shoes. Adèle was watching Pierre's hands working carefully on the young man puppet's eyes. As Adèle watched Pierre handle the puppet with his delicate hands, she was drawn into him. She loved the way how Pierre was so focused when he made a puppet.
"Pierre," Adèle started to ask. "Why did you decide to open up a puppet shop?"
"It is because I just love puppets! I can make anything I want and create a little puppet village. I started mostly because of my grandfather. He would put up a lot of puppet shows for me when I was young. It really made me happy, so I decided to open up a puppet shop and make puppets for the kids." Pierre exclaimed.
"Oh how kind of you, Pierre!" Adèle said. Adèle was falling more in love with Pierre now.
After a while of working, an old lady walked into the shop. She had a long yellow dress on and was holding a cane. Her skin was this golden beige color, and her gray curls flowed a little as she walked into the shop.
"Oh good afternoon, Mrs. Dubois! How are you this afternoon?" Pierre said as he walked over to Mrs. Dubois.
"Good afternoon Pierre! I'm very fine!" Mrs. Dubois said. "Oh my, who's this lovely young lady?"
Adèle quickly stood up and straightened her dress and reached out her hand to shake Mrs. Dubois's hand.
"How do you do, Mrs. Dubois? My name is Adaline." Adèle introduced herself.
"Oh hello dear. Why you are so sweet." Mrs. Dubois said as she shook Adèle's hand. Adèle smiled back.
"Now, I'm looking for a puppet for my grandson. Do you know anything suitable for my grandson? He likes animals very much!" Mrs. Dubois said.
"Oh I have just the thing!" Pierre said as he went over to the shelf full of puppets. He looked up an down and saw an elephant puppet. He gently pick it up from the group of elephant puppets.
"How about this friendly elephant?" Pierre asked as he held up the elephant puppet.
"Oh my, this elephant looks so cute! My grandson will love it!" Mrs. Dubois said as she took out her vintage wallet.
"Here you go, Pierre, is this enough?" Mrs. Dubois said as she took out a couple of bills.
"This is more than enough, Mrs. Dubois!" Pierre exclaimed.
"Oh just keep it all deary, I can't thank you enough. I just know that my grandson will love it." Mrs. Dubois said as she put the money in Pierre's hands.
"Thank you so much, Mrs. Dubois. You are too kind." Pierre said as he quickly put the puppet in a brown paper bag. Pierre handed the bag to Mrs. Dubois.
"Thanks again, Pierre. Now, you have a good day now! You too Adaline!" Mrs. Dubois said as she left Pierre's workshop.
"Good day now, Mrs. Dubois!" Pierre said as Mrs. Dubois started to walk out.
"Good bye, Mrs. Dubois!" Adèle said as she waved her elegant hand.
"Mrs. Dubois is so generous!" Pierre said as he walked back over to his seat.
"She seems very kind." Adèle added on.
"She is. Alright, I have to get started on another puppet. I have to let this one dry first." Pierre said as he put the young man puppet aside.
"The puppet looks very lovely." Adèle complimented. "What's his name?"
"His name is...I actually haven't thought about that yet. I'll tell you when the perfect name pops up. I take time naming my puppets since I think unique names is what makes them special." Pierre explained. "That reminds me, I have to show you this recent young lady puppet I have made!" Pierre walked over to his shelf again.
"Hmm, where is she?" Pierre wondered as he looked up and down the shelf. "I put her right here. Maybe I replaced her?"
"Who are you looking for?" Adèle asked.
"My young lady puppet. I named her Adèle, isn't that a lovely name?" Pierre said.
Adèle froze.

Oh. No.

"Adèle is a lovely puppet! Her dress, I must say, is one of the best dresses I have ever made! Actually, you...actually kind of look like her." Pierre said as he thoughtfully looked at her.
"Oh really?" Adèle said nervously. "What a...coincidence."
"Actually, now that I think about it, you do look like my puppet!" Pierre said. "I mean, you have the same hair color, same eyes and a similar dress on too!"

Oh. No. Pierre cannot find out!

"Oh no no, that can't be possible. I mean, Pierre, I'm a human, how can I possibly look like a puppet?" Adèle said nervously.
"Hmm, you are right. I must be imagining things." Pierre finally said.

Oh thank goodness.

"Oh my, time has went by fast today! The sun is almost setting!" Pierre said as he stretched his arms and looked out the window.
Adèle froze straight once and again and slowly turned her head towards the window. The sun is getting smaller and dimmer.
Oh no! Sunset! I must go!
"Oh my, it's getting very late!" Adèle stood up nervously. "Oh my, it's getting very late now! I think I need some sleep!" Adèle said as she pretended to yawn.
"Oh alright, then, do you want some dinner at least?" Startled Pierre said.
"Oh no no, it's alright! It was a big lunch we ate!" Adèle said hurriedly. "Alright, I'll just excuse myself to my room now, if that is alright with you."
"Oh alright then. There are already some blankets laid out for you on your bed." Pierre said as Adèle hurried off to her room.
"Thank you so much Pierre! Good night now!" Adèle said she shut the door.

Finally, safety.

"Oh alright then, good night!" Pierre said. "Now that was a bit strange. Doesn't she want any dinner?"

As the sun set slowly, Adèle slowly turned back, part by part, into a puppet. Pierre was just finishing his dinner. He made a huge pot of spaghetti and put the leftovers in a small bowl with a cover. "I think Adaline would enjoy this." Pierre said as he put the small bowl of spaghetti in the ice box. After Pierre cleaned the table and washed the dishes, he retreated upstairs to his bedroom. He changed into his pajamas and got into bed. He turned on his small lamp on his drawer and took out his square brown glasses again and took out a book. As the night drifted on, Pierre soon fell asleep after a long day with his book in his hands. When the big clock downstairs striked midnight, the puppets of the village come alive once again.
At midnight, Adèle turned alive as a puppet again, along with the other puppets. She slowly got up from the floor and went to the door. She looked up at the door knob and realized how high it was!
"Oh my! How am I going to open the door now?" Adèle said to herself.
Adèle looked around the room and next to the door was a tall drawer. She walked over to the front of the drawer. She noticed the wooden knobs on the drawer and started to climb. Once she got to the top of the drawer, she walked over to the door knob and turned it and opened the door. She climbed down from the wooden knobs and sneaked out of the room. The other puppets were already dancing in their little puppet village. Adèle quickly ran across the room and started to climb the shelf that she was placed before. Once she got up there, she reunited with her puppet village.
"Adèle! There you are!" The friendly dog said when he saw Adèle.
"Hello, everyone! Sorry for being a little late." Adèle apologized as she greeted everyone.
"Where did you go, Adèle?" Olivia, Adèle's good friend, said.
"Oh, Olivia! I have so much to tell you! Come here, come here, sit next to me." Adèle said as she pulled Olivia's arm to go sit on a bench.
"What's wrong Adèle?" Olivia said, confused.
"Oh my goodness Olivia! The most amazing thing happened! I.." Adèle looked around. "I was turned into a human!" Adèle whispered.
"...What?!" Olivia screamed. "What do you mean Adèle? Are you alright?"
"Shh, shh, quiet down. I was turned into a human by Godmother Moon!" Adèle whispered.
"Wait, wait, who's Godmother Moon? Are you sure you are alright Adèle? I think you have been dreaming way too much. " Olivia asked, concerned.
"Yes, yes I'm fine! Just keep it down, I'll tell you from beginning to the end." Adèle said.
"Alright, you better explain this to me." Olivia said.
"Alright, so Godmother Moon is, well, she's the moon." Adèle started to explain. Olivia gave her a confused look.
"She even talked to me! I was just sitting there, and all of a sudden, I heard this voice and then look up and saw a face on the moon!" Adèle said. Olivia gave her another confused look.
"Alright, never mind that. But Godmother Moon granted me my wish to become a human so I could be with Pierre! Oh Olivia, he's so amazing!" Adèle said dreamly.
"Wait wait, hold on a second. Godmother Moon granted your wish? And you were with Pierre? How?" Olivia said, more confused.
"Oh silly! I told you! Godmother turned me into a human!" Adèle said.
"But how is that possible?" Olivia asked, still confused.
"Anything is possible if you just believe! And well, Godmother Moon's magical powers did most of the work." Adèle admitted.
"Oh my! That is very intense Adèle! So what was it like? Being a human and all?" Olivia asked.
"It was amazing! I got to eat many many delicious foods and I got to smell many many delicious smells! Oh Olivia, being a human opens up so many opportunities! Being a puppet could get a little dull sometimes, since we can't eat or drink or smell!" Adèle said.
"Eat? Drink? Smell? ? What is all of that?" Olivia asked, still very confused.
"Well, humans get hungry and thirsty, so they need food and water to feel better again. But the thing is that, there are so many different kinds of foods out there! And they are all so delicious! And the smell of food is just amazing! Oh even the smell of flowers! Flowers smell so sweet and fragrant!" Adèle exclaimed.
"Oh my! I didn't know that you can smell flowers!" Olivia said, surprised.
"But yes you can as a human! Walking was definitely hard for me. I tripped and fell many times!" Adèle said.
"Oh my! What did falling fell like?" Olivia asked.
"I guess, it felt heavy? It felt like something was pulling me to the ground, such a funny sensation. But luckily, Pierre was there." Adèle said.
"Oh right! You met Pierre! What was he like?" Olivia asked,
"He was very kind and sweet. He is even letting me stay at his workshop!" Adèle said.
"Really? Are you sure that is safe?" Olivia asked.
"Of course, why wouldn't it be?" Adèle asked.
"In case Pierre finds out that you are a puppet. None of the humans you have met knows that you are a puppet right? Or knows about the puppet village?" Olivia asked, concerned.
"Oh no, of course not! Do not worry about it, I just have five days as a human, so I really don't think anyone will fine out. But only five days to try win over Pierre's heart, it's too short. But if I do win over Pierre's heart, I get to be with him forever!" Adèle said.
"Wait forever as a human? Oh dear, let's just hope the King and Queen does not know any of this. Or else, you could be in deep trouble." Olivia said quietly.
"What? What do you mean Olivia?" Adèle asked, concerned.
"Well, the King and Queen's job is to keep the village safe and if they find out that one of the puppets is risking the whole village, then it wouldn't be too good for that puppet..." Olivia said.
"Oh dear. I hope they don't find out! Promise you would keep this a secret?" Adèle asked Olivia.
"Of course! That's what good friends are for." Olivia smiled.
"Thank you so much Olivia. Let's go catch up with the others now." Adèle said as she and Olivia hopped off to a group of puppets.

Listening in on them from afar, was the sneaky rhino. The sneaky rhino heard every word Adèle and Olivia had said.
"The King and Queen would definitely need to know about this. But first, I need to know more about this before I tell the King and Queen."
After a while of catching up with all of her puppet friends, Adèle's friends said goodbye to her as they all went back to their places on the shelves.
Adèle stayed outside and waited for Godmother Moon. The sneaky rhino noticed that Adèle didn't go back to her place on the self.
"I wonder what she is doing out here." The sneaky rhino said as he hid behind a house to watch Adèle.
"Godmother Moon! Where are you?" Adèle shouted to the moon.
"I'm right here, child!" Godmother Moon said as she appeared on the moon. "How was your first day as a human, my dear?"
"Oh Godmother Moon, it was amazing! I got to eat and smell, it was wonderful!" Adèle said joyfully.
"I'm sure it was! Pierre does not know, am I correct?" Godmother Moon asked.
"No, he does not know. Although, at one point, he kind of recognized me..." Adèle said softly.
"He recognized you? So he knows?!" Godmother Moon said, more concerned.
"Oh no no, he does not. I told him it was impossible for me to be a puppet." Adèle reassured Godmother Moon.
"Oh thank goodness." Godmother Moon said with relief. "That was very close, do not let that happen again. He probably recognized you with your puppet clothing. Let's give you a new dress!" Godmother Moon said as she released sparkles onto Adèle's dress. Adèle's dress lit up and changed into a light pink flowing sundress.
"There we go! Looks very good on you, dear!" Godmother Moon said.
"Oh my! It's beautiful! Thank you very much Godmother Moon!" Adèle said as she looked down at her new dress.
"It's almost time for a new day. I suggest you going back to your room and sleep when you turn back into a human. You are going to need a lot of rest." Godmother moon said.
"Sleeping? What is that?" Adèle asked.
"As a human, you will need sleep to regain energy for a new day. Just lay in your bed and close your eyes and let your body rest. You won't feel anymore once you are asleep, but when you wake up, you will feel refreshed." Godmother Moon explain.
"Oh I get it now! But Godmother Moon, I need some advice, on how to be human." Adèle asked.
"Alright well, you will be probably doing a lot things tomorrow and mostly likely be helping out Pierre. Just follow Pierre and see what he is doing." Godmother Moon said.
"So I am just going to copy whatever Pierre is doing?" Adèle said.
"Exactly, just do not make it too obvious. Alright now, go back to your room and rest! You have a long day ahead of you!"
"Thank you again Godmother Moon!" Adèle said.
"You are very welcome. I will be here again tomorrow, call me if you need me then! Sleep tight now!" Godmother Moon said as she disappeared. Adèle quickly ran over to the edge of the shelf and slowly climbed down the whole shelf. She ran quickly across and the room and went through the door crack of her room.
The sneaky rhino saw and heard everything.
"Who is this Godmother Moon? Granting her everything?" The sneaky rhino said jealously.
"Why does she get to turn into a human? Why can't I turn into a real rhino? Or even better, a human? I am tired of walking on my four legs. I'm tired that I can not dance as well as some of the other puppets. How I wish I was a human for just one day." The sneaky rhino said angrily.
"I am going to tell the King and Queen tomorrow. It is not fair if she is the only one that gets to have the chance to experience being a human."

"How am I going to get to my bed?" Adèle wondered as she entered her room. She looked around her room and saw a wooden stool next to her bed.
"A stool! How handy!" Adèle said as she ran quickly over to the stool. She climbed up the stool and leaped onto the bed.
"Oh my! How soft!" Adèle said as she tumbled onto the bed. "This is much better than my shelf!"
Adèle started to jump and dance around on her bed. As Adèle had fun jumping around, the sun started to slowly rise up. As the sun started to rise up, Adèle turned into a human, part by part.
"I am a human again!" Adèle said as she flopped down on her bed.
"What do I do now? Oh right, sleep!" Adèle said as she laid down on her bed. "Oh my, this sure feels comfy!"
Adèle closed her eyes, and started to drift off into sleep.

Meanwhile, Pierre was up bright and early to work on his puppets. Pierre went downstairs right away to work on his puppets, after getting dressed.
After working for a while, Pierre got hungry,
"I guess I will go make some eggs now." Pierre said as he headed off to the kitchen. Pierre picked out a pan and started to heat it up on the stove. He then got out some eggs from a basket and some milk. He started to scramble the eggs and then added some milk into the stirred eggs. As he poured the eggs onto the pan, it sizzled and started to cook. Pierre got out a wooden spatula and started to scramble the eggs.
"Smells delicious!" Pierre declared. "I'm sure Adèle would enjoy some breakfast."

As Pierre cooked away in the kitchen, the aroma of the eggs floated over to Adèle's room.
"What a wonderful smell." Adèle said sleepily, still half asleep. She slowly opened her eyes and saw the sunlight surround the room. Still a little half asleep, she yawned.
"Oh my, I feel so refreshed now! Godmother Moon was right!" Adèle said as she stretched her arms over her head.
"I wonder what Pierre is cooking in the kitchen right now!" Adèle said she hopped off from her bed. Adèle slowly opened the door of her room and walked across to the kitchen. There Adèle saw Pierre cooking eggs.
"Good morning Pierre! What are you making?" Adèle said as she entered the kitchen.
"Oh good morning Adaline! Just making some eggs, would you like some?" Pierre asked.
Eggs? Smells good!
"Oh sure, that would be lovely!" Adèle said. "But would you like some help?"
"Oh no don't worry about it. Just sit down and enjoy your breakfast." Pierre said as he set down a plate of scrambled eggs on the table. "Here, pour yourself a cup of milk too." Pierre handed her a cup.
Milk?
"Oh thank you very much." Adèle said as she sat down. She looked down at her eggs. It was yellow and looked very fluffy. Next to her plate was a fork and knife.
How are you suppose to eat this?
Adèle picked up her knife and looked at it. She tried to scoop her eggs with her knife, but the eggs just fell back down onto the plate.
That didn't work out so well.
Adèle put her knife back down and then picked up the fork. She tried to scoop her eggs with her fork and the eggs managed to stay on her fork.
There we go!
She slowly inched her forkful of eggs to her mouth and ate the eggs.
Mmm! So wonderful!
"How do you like the eggs?" Pierre asked.
"Oh it's wonderful Pierre! You are such a fabulous cook!" Adèle smiled.
"Oh thank you. So did you have a good night's sleep? You went to bed pretty early yesterday." Pierre said.
"Oh yes, I did, thank you for asking. I just need a lot of rest, that is all." Adèle said.
"What about you? Did you have a good night's sleep?" Adèle asked.
"Oh I see. I had a very good night's sleep. Although, I had a very strange dream." Pierre said.
Dreams?
"Oh, that doesn't sound too pleasant." Adèle said. "What happened?"
"Well, I had a dream that all of my puppets came alive. I know, how crazy is that!" Pierre laughed.
Puppets coming alive?!
"Oh that sure is silly." Adèle said nervously. "So does that mean that is going to come true?"
"Oh of course not. That dream was too unrealistic to become true." Pierre said as he sat down with a plate of eggs and a cup of milk.
"But I kind of wonder what that dream meant. Have you ever had crazy dreams like that before?" Pierre asked.
"Me? Oh I don't think so..." Adèle said, "How do you know if you are having one?"
"You never had a dream before?" Pierre asked.
"No..." Adèle admitted.
"I'm sure you have. You just probably do not remember them. I probably do not remember remember most of my dreams. But the dream I had yesterday was just crazy. Anyways, when you are dreaming, you will see a lot of pictures. You also can't control the pictures you see either. It is also very hard to remember all of your dreams too." Pierre said.
Oh my, how complicated.
"How interesting! I haven't had a dream yet." Adèle said.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you will have one soon." Pierre said as he stabbed some eggs with his fork. Adèle saw him doing that and did the same. "Today is sure going to be a busy day! I have to go set a puppet show for the kids this afternoon. Also, the town's festival is happening tomorrow, which means I need to make a lot of puppets this today!" Pierre said.
"Sounds like a long day already! I can help you whenever you need me." Adèle said.
"Oh that would be great Adaline! I'm going to need all the help I could get." Pierre said as he finished up his eggs. "Let us get working right away!" Pierre got up and put his plate in the sink. Adèle got up and put her plate in the sink too.
"Let's get working!" Adèle said as she followed Pierre out the kitchen.
Pierre sat down on his stool and took out his brown glasses. He immediately took out a puppet and started to work on it. Adèle grabbed some cloth and string and started to cut them with scissors.
Soon it was noon. Pierre finished two puppets and Adèle made clothing for them.
"The clothing for the puppets look very beautiful Adaline!" Pierre commented.
"Oh thank you, I'm glad you like them." Adèle smiled.
"Oh thank you, you are the one who made my puppets look wonderful." Pierre said, "You must be hungry. Let us get some lunch before I have to do my puppet show."
As Pierred walked over to the kitchen. Adèle followed him
"I saved some left over spaghetti from yesterday's dinner." Pierre said as dumped the left over spaghetti into the pan to heat it up.
Pierre save spaghetti for me!
"Oh It smells great!" Adèle said.
The spaghetti moved around the pan as it got heated up. Pierre took a fork and scoop the spaghetti onto one plate and then another.
"Here you go." Pierre said as he placed a plate of spaghetti in front of Adèle.
"Thank you, it smells wonderful." Adèle said. She picked up her fork and tried to scoop some spaghetti, but it just fell back onto her plate.
This spaghetti is hard to eat.
Pierre sat down with his plate of spaghetti across from Adèle. Pierre picked up his fork and started to twist the spaghetti around. Adèle saw him and started to do the same. She put a little into her mouth and started to chew.
This is so delicious!
"How do you like the spaghetti?" Pierre asked.
"Oh, it tastes delicious!" Adèle said while twisting more spaghetti onto her fork.
"I'm glad you like it! I'm a very simple cook, but I'm glad you have been liking my food!" Pierre said.
"Oh I think you are a wonderful cook! I don't think I can cook very well, mostly because I have never really tried." Adèle said.
"Oh well then, you are going to cook with me today for dinner!" Pierre said. Adèle smiled, but then quickly frowned.
Cooking with Pierre? Oh I can't wait! But did he say dinner?
"But I'm guessing you have to sleep early again?" Pierre said as he saw Adèle frowned.
"Yes, I'm sorry..." Adèle looked down.
"Oh don't worry about it, just be up and early tomorrow and we will cook breakfast!" Pierre smiled. "Alright, it's time to set up the puppet show! Are you done eating Adaline?"
Adèle nodded as Pierre took her plate and his plate to the sink.
"Alright, I need some help packing the puppets." Pierre said as he walked out of the kitchen with Adèle right behind him.
"Sure! I'm glad to help you!" Adèle agreed.
"Thanks a lot Adaline. With you here, everything just runs so much smoothly." Pierre said as he started to pack up the puppets needed for the show.
"Oh thank you for letting me stay here! It's been a big help, really." Adèle said as she smiled.
"Let's get going now!" Pierre said as he handed his bagful of puppets to Adèle.
"Alright!" Adèle said as she took the bag from Pierre. Pierre then picked up the wooden stage for the puppet show.
Pierre and Adèle walked out of the workshop and headed up for the center of the town.

Once Pierre and Adèle got to the center of the town, Pierre started to set up the stage for the puppet show. The children nearby saw Pierre setting up and ran up to him.
"Pierre! Pierre!" The children said.
"Oh hello there! How are you all doing?" Pierre asked the children.
"We are good! Are you doing to do a puppet show now?" One of the children asked.
"Yes I am! That's why I'm here!" Pierre said as he got out the puppets.
"Hooray!" The children shouted as they went to sit down to get ready to watch the puppet show.
Oh my, Pierre is so good with the children!
After Pierre finished setting up, he took out a elephant puppet and a giraffe puppet. The children got more excited as he started to tell the story.
Adèle went to sit with the kids to enjoy Pierre's story. As Adèle listened to Pierre's soft story-telling voice, she fell more in love with him.
At the end of the puppet show, all the children and Adèle cheered and clapped hard.
"Thank you everyone!" Pierre said as he bowed.
"When will you be back again?" One of the children asked.
"I will be back tomorrow! For the town's festival!" Pierre answered.
"Hooray I can't wait!" Another child said. As the children went back to their parents smiling, Pierre started to take down the set and Adèle helped him packed up.
"Pierre, that was such a great puppet show! You are really good at telling stories!" Adèle complimented.
"Oh why thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! It is a lot of fun putting up these shows for the kids. They enjoy it a lot." Pierre said.
Adèle smiled as she picked up the bagful of puppets. She looked up and noticed the sun was going to set soon.
"Oh my, it's getting very late!" Adèle said nervously. "Let's head back now?"
"Of course, home we go!" Pierre said as he picked up the puppet stage.
"Oh good, let's get going then." Adèle said as she took off first.
"You are walking fast Adaline!" Pierre said as he tried to catch up.

Pierre and Adèle got back to the workshop quickly. When Pierre opened the door, Adèle charged right in and started to put the puppets back.
"Oh my Adaline, why the rush?" Pierre asked.
"Oh nothing, just you know, want to catch up on some sleep. I do not sleep...that much, so I try to go to bed early." Adèle nervously answered.
"Oh I see?" Pierre said, a little confused. "Would you still like some dinner though?"
Dinner! Oh no, no time for that. Sun is setting!
"Oh no, it's alright. I usually don't eat very much. But I'll be up to help you with breakfast tomorrow morning!" Adèle said as she started to head towards her room.
"Are you sure you don't need anything?" Pierre asked.
"Oh I'm fine! Enjoy your dinner! Good night Pierre!" Adèle said as she went into her room.
"Oh, alright then, good night!" Pierre said, still a little confused. "What an interesting sleeping pattern she has."

As the sun set down, Adèle slowly turned back into a puppet. While Adèle turned back into a puppet, Pierre made himself dinner, washed the dishes and worked on puppets to be sold tomorrow at the town festival. Pierre stayed up really late working on the puppets and then he finally went to bed, right before midnight.
At midnight, Adèle come alive again as a puppet and climbed the drawer to open the door of her room again. She quickly leaped across the room to get to the shelf full of puppets. She quickly climbed up the shelf and joined her puppet friends. The sneaky rhino saw Adèle climbing the shelf. As Adèle shared stories about her day with Olivia, the sneaky rhino listened in on them. As the sneaky rhino listened to Adèle's stories about being a human, he got upset and angry and decided to tell the King and Queen.
"If I can't be a real rhino, why does she get the chance to be a human? That's it! I'm going to the King and Queen right now!" The sneaky rhino said as he marched his way to find the King and Queen. The King and Queen were sitting on their thrones, watching their puppet people dance. The King noticed the sneaky rhino as he slowly approached them.
"Good day, rhino! How are you?" The King asked.
"I am very good, my King." The sneaky rhino answered.
"What brings you here, rhino?" The Queen asked.
"I have something urgent to you, my King and Queen." The sneaky rhino said.
"What is the matter, rhino?" The King asked.
"I have found someone in the village, risking our whole village puppet." The sneaky rhino answered.
The King and Queen both gasped. "Well, who is this puppet? Tell me at once!" The King shouted.
"It is Adèle." The sneaky rhino answered.
"Adèle? This can't be!" The Queen said.
"What has she been doing?" The King asked.
"She got Godmother Moon to grant her a wish, so she could turn into a human during the day." The sneaky rhino answered.
"Godmother Moon?" The King asked.
"Yes, Godmother Moon. Apparently she grants people wishes." The sneaky rhino answered.
"Where can I find this Godmother Moon?" The King asked.
"Godmother Moon is the moon. You can find her if you call out to the moon. I have seen Adèle doing that." The sneaky rhino said.
"I see. But what should I request from this Godmother Moon?" The King asked.
"I know that Adèle wished to be a human to meet the puppeteer, so he could fall in love with her. Once the puppeteer falls in love with Adèle, she gets to be a human forever. You can either asked Godmother Moon to take the wish back or wish that the puppeteer falls in love with someone else." The sneaky rhino planned.
"Very well then, thank you for informing us, rhino. I shall take care of this right way. Make sure no one knows. Go along now." The King said,
"I will make sure no one finds out." The sneaky rhino said as he bowed and started to leave.
"Watch out Adèle. Your days of being a human are over." The sneaky rhino said quietly to himself.

When it was time for all the puppets to go back to their places on the shelf, the King stayed behind to make sure no one is still out. The King then ran into Adèle.
"Adèle, my dear. What are you doing out here? You are suppose to be at your place on the shelf." The King said to Adèle.
Oh no, is the King going to make me stay at my place on the shelf now?
"Oh, I was just...getting there." Adèle said.
"Well, hurry up now. You are suppose to be resting along with the others." The King said sternly to Adèle.
"Oh alright, I am going right now. Good bye, my King." Adèle said as she slowly walked away.
"Good bye, Adèle." The King said.
Oh no, how I am going to talk to Godmother Moon now?
Adèle turned her head around and saw the King was still there, so she gave up and went back to her place on the shelf.
When Adèle got back to her place on her shelf, the King walked to the edge of the table and looked around.
"Now, where is that Godmother Moon?" The King said to himself.
"Did someone call me?" Godmother Moon emerged on the moon.
The King looked up and was startled by the face on the moon.
"Godmother Moon?" The King asked.
"Yes, this is she." Godmother Moon said. "Do you need anything, my King?"
"Why yes I do. I have heard that you have granted Adèle a wish." The King said.
"Yes I did. Poor girl, she just wanted to meet the puppeteer so I gave her a little help." Godmother Moon said.
"Oh I see. Well, as the King of the puppet village, I demand you to take that wish back." The King said.
"I'm sorry my King. Once a wish is granted, it can not be un-wished." Godmother Moon said.
"This won't do." The King said as he started to think. As he thought, he thought of the sneaky rhino's suggestion.
"May I make wish then?" The King asked.
"...Yes you may, my King." Godmother Moon said reluctantly. She knows that it won't be a good wish for Adèle.
"Well, right now I have no other choice since I have to protect my puppet village. I know this is going to hurt Adèle..." The King said quietly. "Alright then, I wish that the puppeteer will meet another young lady who he will fall in love with."
"I cannot make people fall in love with other people, but I can grant you that the puppeteer will meet another young lady. To love or not to love her is the puppeteer's own choice. But are you sure you want to wish this, my King? This could hurt Adèle." Godmother Moon said.
"Yes, I understand that, but I cannot put my puppet village in risk. So yes, I'm sure I want to wish this." The King said.
"Very well then, I shall grant you this wish. Tomorrow morning, the puppeteer will meet another young lady." Godmother Moon said. "Goodnight now."
"Goodnight and thank you Godmother Moon." The King said.

It was almost time for the sun to start rising. Adèle quickly stood up and climbed quietly down the shelf and ran across the workshop to get to her room. In her room. Adèle started slowly turning into a human part by part.
Adèle stretched her arms up as she headed out to the kitchen.
I think I will make breakfast this morning. I can do this!
Adèle got to the kitchen and looked around.
Hmm, what should I make though?
As Adèle looked around, she saw one of Pierre's cook books lying around on the counter. The cookbook was open to a pancake recipe.
"Pancakes?" Adèle said. "Pancakes: The Perfect Breakfast" Adèle read out loud.
"You will need flour, eggs, butter and milk and a little salt. Alright, let's do this!"
Adèle went through the kitchen cabinet and found a bag of flour. She also got butter, two eggs and milk from the ice box.
"It says to mix the flour with the milk, butter and eggs." Adèle read from the book as she dumped some flour into a big bowl. She cracked the eggs into the bowl of flour and poured some milk.
"Mix the batter until it is smooth. Mix it? With what? It probably means to mix it with my hands, I guess." Adèle said as she put her hand into the batter.
"Oh my! It feels so slimy!" Adèle said as she moved her hand around in the bowl.
"Alright, add a pinch of salt." Adèle said as she pinched some salt from a small container with her other hand.
"Scoop a little bit of the batter onto the pan. Make sure the batter fills the pan and make sure it is not too thick."
Adèle turned on the stove and got a pan with her other hand and put it stove. She mixed the batter one more time and then scooped a little bit of the batter with her hand and put it on the stove.
"Wait about two to three minutes before flipping it over with a spatula." Adèle read out loud as she washed off her hands.
"Spatula? What could that be?" Adèle said as she looked around. She then found a large wooden spoon.
"This will do." Adèle said as she tried to flip the pancake over. It took Adèle a while to try to flip the pancake, but she finally did it. The cooked side of the pancake was a nice golden brown color.
"Oh my, how pretty! I'm sure Pierre will enjoy this!" Adèle said as she kept on cooking.

Upstairs, Pierre was still asleep but he was waken to the aroma of pancakes.
"What a lovely smell! It smells like pancakes!" Pierre said as he stretched. "I wonder who is making these pancakes. Could it be Adèle?"
Pierre then quickly got up and got dressed. He ran down the stair and went to the kitchen. There he saw Adèle making pancakes.
"Good morning Adèle! I didn't know you were going to make breakfast!" Pierre said.
"Oh, good morning Pierre! Oh, well, surprise! I am! I figured it was my turn to cook breakfast." Adèle said.
"What a lovely surprise! It smells delicious!" Pierre said as he went over to the plate of finished pancakes.
"Here, start eating! I bet you're hungry. I'll just finish these last few pancakes." Adèle insisted.
"Alright then, I can't wait to try these. I don't often make pancakes." Pierre said as he got two pancakes from the whole plate of pancakes.
"How are they?" Adèle said as she finished making the last pancake.
"Very very delicious! Adaline, you are such a wonderful pancake maker!" Pierre complimented as he ate. "That reminds me, we have some syrup too!"
Syrup?
Adèle went to sit at the table with two of pancakes as Pierre got a bottle of syrup from the cabinet.
"Here, try your pancakes with the syrup." Pierre said as he handed over the bottle of syrup to Adèle.
What am I suppose to do with this? Drink it?
"Go ahead, just pour it over your pancakes." Pierre said when he saw Adèle pausing.
"Oh right, of course." Adèle said as she opened the bottle of syrup. She poured it over her pancakes and handed it to Pierre, who happened to love syrup so he drowned his pancakes in it.
Adèle cut off a piece of the pancake with her fork and slowly put it in her mouth.
"I really like this syrup! It tastes very good with the pancakes!" Adèle said as she ate more.
"I know! They both go well with one another. I love sweet things." Pierre said. "Thanks again Adaline for making these pancakes. This is the best breakfast I have ever had."
"Oh it was my pleasure, and I should be the one thanking you for letting me stay here." Adèle said.
"No need to thank me. I enjoy being with you!" Pierre smiled. smiled back.
Oh I'm so flattered!
The bell on the door of Pierre's workshop suddenly rang.
"Oh it must be a customer! Excuse me Adaline while I go get the door." Pierre said as he left the table.
Pierre went to open the door and saw a tall slender young lady. She had red long hair and dark blue eyes. She was wearing a light lavender sundress with sandals. Pierre was taken by surprise of this beautiful young lady.
"Oh good morning! Is your shop open?" The young lady asked and smiled.
"Oh, yes yes of course! Come in!" Pierre said.
"Thank you very much! You must be Pierre! My name is Viola." Viola said as she reached out her hand.
"Oh glad to meet you, Viola! So what brings you here this morning?" Pierre said as he shook her hand.
"Oh just getting a puppet for my nephew's birthday." Viola answered as she walked into the workshop.
"Very nice. Come over to the shelf, I'm sure we will find something that he will like." Pierre said as he lead Viola to the shelf full of puppets.
While walking to the shelf full of puppets, Viola suddenly tripped over a wood board that was sticking out from the rest and fell! She fell to the ground with a huge thump and scrapped both of her knees.
"Oh no! Are you alright, Viola?" Pierre said frantically as he hurried over to Viola. Pierre supported Viola as she tried to stand up again.
"Oh, I just scrapped knees, no big deal." Viola said as she tried to hold back the pain.
"Here, let's go sit down." Pierre said as he led Viola to a stool.
Adèle poked her head out of the kitchen to see what was going on.
Who is she? One of Pierre's friends?
Adèle stayed in the kitchen to hear their conversation.
"Let me help you wrap up your knees. It must hurt a lot." Pierre said as he grabbed a roll of bandage.
"Oh Pierre, you are too kind." Viola smiled.
"Oh no, it's my pleasure." Pierre said as he started to bandage Viola's knees. "So what kind of puppet are you looking for?"
"Maybe an animal of some sort? My nephew says all the kids in town has a puppet, so I'm guessing they probably got it from you." Viola said.
"Oh yes. The kids in town enjoy the puppets a lot." Pierre said.
"That reminds me, I have to take my nephew to the town festival tomorrow." Viola said.
"Oh really? I'm going as well!" Pierre said.
"Oh how wonderful! I'm new to this town, so I'm a little clueless about the town festival." Viola said.
"Don't worry about it! I'll show you and our nephew around!" Pierre suggested.
"That will be great! How sweet of you! Thank you so much." Viola smiled.
"No need to thank me, it's my pleasure." Pierre said.
"Well, thank you very much for helping me bandage my knees." Viola said.
"You are welcome. Let's go pick out a puppet for your nephew." Pierre said. "What kind of animal does he like?"
"Oh this lion looks very cute! I think I'll buy this lion." Viola said as she picked up a lion puppet.
"Sure thing." Pierre said. Viola handed Pierre some money.
"Thank you! I hope your nephew will enjoy it. So for the town festival tomorrow, just bring your nephew here with you around noon and we can all head over there together tomorrow." Pierre said.
"Sounds wonderful! Thank you again Pierre." Viola said as she started to head out for the door.
"Goodbye! See you tomorrow!" Pierre waved.
"See you tomorrow!" Viola said as she waved and left the workshop.
She better not like Pierre...I hope Pierre doesn't like her either...

When the sun was about to set, Adèle went back to her room quietly without saying anything to Pierre.
"Adaline seemed pretty quiet today. I wonder if everything is alright." Pierre wondered.
Adèle stayed in her room the whole night. She didn't even leave her room to go back to the puppet village.
"Where's Adèle?" Olivia wondered quietly.
"Olivia! Have you seen Adèle anywhere?" The friendly lion asked.
"No, I haven't. Not yet." Olivia answered. "I hope she's alright."
Back in her room, Adèle hopped up to the window and sat down.
Everything was going so well...until Viola came along...who is she anyways? And why was Pierre so nice to her? Overly nice to her? Pierre can't possibly like her...I mean, she is very pretty though...and nice too...maybe I'm just imagining things. Everything was going very well between Pierre and I...at least I thought so.

The next morning, Adèle did not want to get up. Pierre woke up and went down the stairs and headed towards the kitchen.
"This is odd...Adaline isn't up this morning. I hope everything is alright." Pierre said to himself. He took out a carton of eggs and started to make omelets for Adèle and him. An hour passed since Pierre woke up and Adèle still haven't left her room.
"Why isn't Adaline up yet?" Pierre wondered. "I hope she is alright."
Pierre went over to Adèle's room and knocked on her door.
"Adaline? Are you awake?" Pierre said loudly.
"Oh yes, I'm awake." Adèle answered weakly.
"Oh alright, are you feeling unwell or something?" Pierre asked.
"Oh yes...I'm feeling unwell." Adèle answered.
"Oh I'm sorry. Can I get you anything? Some breakfast? Some hot tea?" Pierre asked.
"It's alright, I'm fine. I'll be out in a bit." Adèle said.
"Alright, holler if you need anything! I'll just be out here finishing some puppets." Pierre said.

A little while later, Adèle finally got up and went out of her room.
"Well, hello there! Are you feeling a little better now?" Pierre asked.
"Yes, better now." Adèle answered.
"Oh that's great! Viola will be coming any moment now with her nephew and then we can all head up to the town festival." Pierre said as he started to pack a few puppets.
"Oh...that sounds great." Adèle softly said. "I'll help you pack up the puppets."
"Thank you, but don't you want some breakfast first?" Pierre asked. "Don't want you feel dizzy during the town's festival."
"Oh it's alright, I'm not hungry." Adèle said.
"Are you sure? I made omelets!" Pierre said.
"No, it's alright." Adèle said as she packed up some more puppets.
There was suddenly a knock on the door.
"Oh that must be Viola!" Pierre said as he quickly headed for the door.
"Good afternoon, Viola!" Pierre said joyfully as he opened the door and saw Viola with her nephew.
"Good afternoon, Pierre!" Viola smiled her beautiful smile, showing her perfect teeth. "This is my nephew, Charles. Say hello to Pierre, Charles."
"Hello Pierre." Charles said quietly.
"Why hello there Charles!" Pierre said.
"He is a bit shy. Tell Pierre how much you liked his puppet, Charles." Viola said.
Charles just smiled and hid behind Viola.
"Oh it's alright, I'm glad you enjoyed it, Charles! Are you ready to head up to the town festival?" Pierre asked.
Charles nodded and smiled.
"Alright, let me just pack up a few more things before we get going. Come in, come in." Pierre said.
Adèle looked up and saw Viola with Charles.
It's her...again.
"Adaline! Meet Viola and Charles!" Pierre said as he walked over to her.
"Hello, Viola. I'm Adaline" Adèle said she shook Viola's hand.
"Hello Adaline! Nice to meet you." Viola said as she shook Adèle's hand.
"Hello there, Charles!" Adèle said as she patted Charles' head.
"Let's get going now!" Pierre said as he grabbed his bag full of puppets. Adèle also grabbed a bag full of puppets.
"Oh my, it's very hot today!" Pierre said as he walked out.
"Yes, it's such a beautiful day!" Viola said. Pierre and Viola walked side by side while Charles held on to Viola's hand. Adèle walked quietly behind them. While Pierre and Viola happily talked, Adèle started to get dizzy and walked more slowly.
When they got to the town festival, many people were there. Charles saw a petting zoo and started to run towards it. Viola followed him and so did Pierre.
Adèle lost track of them and looked around, but still could not find them. Many people bumped into her and she suddenly lost her balance since she was very dizzy and fell.
"Oh no, young lady! Are you alright!?" A lady said as she went over to Adèle. Adèle didn't reply back and just laid there. Suddenly, many people started to crowd around her to see what was wrong.
Charles finally got to the petting zoo with Viola and Pierre following him. Charles saw two chickens pecking each other.
"Look, Auntie Viola! The chickens are in love! Just like you and Uncle Pierre!" Charles said happily.
"Oh no no Charles." Viola said shyly as she tried to laugh it off. "I think Uncle Pierre is already married, aren't you Pierre?"
"Oh me? No, I'm not married." Pierre answered.
"Oh what a shame. I was starting to feel jealous of Adaline since I thought she was married to you." Viola laughed.
"Oh Adaline is just...um, a friend." Pierre said.
"Well, I'm kind of glad you are not married." Viola shyly admitted.
"Speaking of Adaline, where is she?" Pierre looked around. "She was just with us."
"Oh don't worry about her. I'm sure she probably just went off to look at something." Viola said. "Let's go into petting zoo!"
"I love too, but I need to find Adaline first." Pierre said.
"Oh no, really, don't worry about her. Let's just go ahead without her, I'm sure she will find us." Viola insisted.
"Yes, let's go Uncle Pierre!" Charles said as he dragged Pierre's hand.
"No, I'm really sorry, but I need to find Adaline." Pierre said again.
"Why do you need to go find her now? I'm sure she is fine. Just stay here with us." Viola said as she pulled on Pierre's arm.
"Look, I'm sorry Viola, but Adaline is important to me and I need to find her." Pierre said sternly.
"Oh, isn't she just a friend though?" Viola said.
"Yes, but...oh dear, I been neglecting her lately." Pierre finally realized. "No wonder she was a bit this odd this morning."
"Oh don't mind her Pierre. Let's quickly go and we will go find her later." Viola insisted.
"I'm sorry. I have to go find Adaline. Excuse me." Pierre said as he started to leave.
"Wait a second Pierre! You know you like me more!" Viola shouted after him. Pierre just ignored her and started to go find Adèle.

"Adaline! Where are you!" Pierre shouted. Pierre then saw a crowd of people standing over someone.
"A young lady has fallen! Someone get help!" A woman in the crowd shouted.
"Oh no! Adaline!" Pierre shouted as he ran towards the crowd.
"Adaline!" Pierre said as he got to Adèle's side. "Oh no, I'm so sorry!" Pierre said as he picked her up.
"Excuse me, excuse me." Pierre said as he tried to get through the crowd.
"Just hang on Adaline, we will be home in a minute." Pierre said as he quickly started to head towards home.
"Oh how could I be so careless!" Pierre said to himself.
In the hot weather, Pierre started to get tired. Pierre finally got home and went straight to Adèle's room and laid her down on her bed.
"Oh no, I hope you are alright, Adaline!" Pierre said nervously.
Pierre felt her forehead and notice that it was hot. Pierre got up and went to the kitchen and got a towel and soaked it in cold water.
Pierre went back to Adèle and put it on her forehead.
Pierre stayed with Adèle until she finally woke up. Pierre already fell asleep when Adèle woke up.
"Pierre?" Adèle said as she shook Pierre's arm. Pierre slowly opened his eyes.
"Adaline! You're awake!" Pierre said happily.
"Yes, but what happened?" Adèle said as she rubbed her head.
"I think you fainted. I'm so sorry I was not there when that happened." Pierre apologized.
Because you were happily with Viola!
"Oh it's alright, you were with Viola anyways...I'm sorry I ruined your day with her..." Adèle said quietly.
"Oh no no, don't you even worry about that! You see, I -"
"No need to explain. I perfectly understand that you enjoy being with her. Now, if you will excuse me, I would like to rest." Adèle interrupted Pierre.
"Oh...alright then. Well, have a good rest." Pierre said as he left the room and slowly closed the door.
"Adaline must be so disappointed in me. Why am I so angry at myself? Why do I care so much all of a sudden that I have disappointed her?" Pierre said quietly to himself.
Pierre ate alone that night again and went off to bed. When midnight came, Adèle decided to go back to her puppet village to tell Olivia that she has given up trying to win Pierre's heart. Adèle hopped off her bed and climbed the staircase again to open the door. She ran daintily across the room and climbed the shelf to get to the puppet village.
"Adèle!" Olivia cried when she saw Adèle. "Where have you been?! Don't you know how worried I was?"
"I'm so sorry, Olivia. I wasn't feeling that well yesterday." Adèle said.
"Oh are you alright? Is everything else alright?" Olivia asked.
"I'm fine, but everything else is not..." Adèle said.
"Oh no, what's wrong?" Olivia asked.
"Viola is the problem..." Adèle said bitterly.
"Wait, who's Viola?" Olivia asked.
"This girl...that Pierre is in love with..." Adèle said sadly.
"What? How is that possible?" Olivia said loudly.
"I have no idea! She just showed up at Pierre's workshop yesterday and now he is in love with her!" Adèle said. "I really give up, Olivia. There's no possible way to win over Pierre's heart now. I'm just a puppet too." Adèle said as she sat down.
"No, Adèle, I'm sure you can!" Olivia encouraged her.
"I really can't, it's really over." Adèle said. "Have you seen Viola? She is such a pretty girl."
"No, I'm sure you are much more prettier than her. You know what, just forget about Pierre. It's his loss. I'm positive that you will find some one twice as good as Pierre." Olivia said, trying to comfort Adèle.
"I guess so..." Adèle said.
Nearby, the sneaky rhino was listening in to their conversation.
"Hello Adèle! Hello Olivia!" The sneaky rhino said as he went over to them.
"Oh hello rhino, how are you?" Adèle said.
"I'm very good! Why the sad face Adèle?" The sneaky rhino asked.
"Oh I'm just...not feeling well." Adèle said. "Just some...love troubles."
"Love troubles? What love troubles? Why don't you tell me and I'll see if I can help?" The sneaky rhino offered.
"Oh it's nothing. Well, its just that this...um...puppet, who I love, but he loves someone else." Adèle said.
"Oh really? Well, then just forget about him. He is no good." The sneaky rhino quickly said.
"I guess so..." Adèle said.
"That's the spirit! He seems like a careless man for not liking a pretty puppet like you." The sneaky rhino said. "Well, I got to go now. Take care, ladies."
"Alright, good bye!" Adèle said.
"The plan is working! Now Adèle's human days are over!" The sneaky rhino said quietly as he walked away.
"Oh Olivia, tomorrow is my last day as a human. To tell you the truth, I'm going to miss it a lot." Adèle said.
"I'm sorry, but at least you will have a lot of memories with you!" Olivia said.
"I guess...well, at least I'm won't be too sad when I say good bye to Pierre. I bet he won't even notice that I'm going to be gone." Adèle said.

The next morning, Pierre woke up extra early to make pancakes for Adèle. Adèle also woke up around that time and went to the kitchen to tell Pierre that she will be leaving soon.
"Good morning Pierre." Adèle said.
"Oh good morning Adèle!" Pierre said happily. "Look, I made pancakes! Come, sit and have some."
"Oh it's alright, I'm not hungry." Adèle said.
"Oh, just sit down and eat. You haven't eaten in a day already! I'm beginning to worry." Pierre said.
Oh he is still worrying?
"You don't need to worry about me." Adèle said.
"Adaline, what is the matter?" Pierre asked.
"Nothing is the matter, Pierre. No need to worry, You don't have to treat me like some puppet. I'm leaving today, so now you will have plenty of time to spend with Viola." Adèle said.
"What? Adaline, what are you saying? A puppet? And me spending time with Viola? What?" Pierre said confused.
"Well, it is clear that you love Viola." Adèle said.
"What? Viola? Of course not! Why would I love her?" Pierre said, starting to get frustrated.
What? He doesn't?
"Wait, you don't?" Adèle said, surprised.
"No, of course not! Where did you get that idea from?" Pierre said.
"Oh it's just that, well, it seemed like you enjoy being with her a lot." Adèle said.
"Well, at the time I did, but not anymore." Pierre said as he went over to Adèle. "Adaline, I enjoy spending time with you more."
"Oh...you do?" Adèle said, more surprised.
"Of course I do! Can't you tell that I actually love you?" Pierre finally said.
Oh my goodness, I must be dreaming.
"...What?" Adèle said, shocked. "All this time...I thought Viola has won over your heart."
"No no, she has never won over my heart. It's always been you, Adaline. It just took me a while to realize." Pierre said.
"Oh, that makes me so happy, Pierre! I love you too!" Adèle said as she embraced Pierre.

And with that, Adèle's wish came true! Adèle is finally a human and she has won Pierre's heart.
Pierre and Adèle both lived happily ever after!

"Oh, just one more thing Pierre." Adèle said.
"What is it?" Pierre asked.
"Call me Adèle. It's my...well my real name. Adaline was just a nickname." Adèle said.
"Adèle? I named one of my puppets that!" Pierre said.
"Oh yes I remember. I just never told you that was my real name." Adèle laughed nervously.
"Oh I see. Well, I sure do love the name Adèle. Speaking of Adèle, where did I put her?" Pierre wondered.
"Oh she's around here alright." Adèle said.

THE END. :D
